At some time in our lives, most of us will experience the unpleasant, sinking feeling that occurs when we see flashing blue lights in our rear view mirror. In many cases, the officer charges you with speeding, running a stop sign, or some other traffic violation, and gives you a ticket and sends you on your way. Many people simply send in the ticket along with the fine and court costs. While this may be the easiest thing to do, it might be the worst thing you can do depending on your case. Even those seemingly minor traffic infractions can add points to your license, and in many cases can increase your auto insurance rates substantially for up to 3 years. If you have recently been issued a traffic citation, I may be able to help you avoid or reduce any insurance points that could result from a conviction. I am a local attorney in Guilford County, and I am at the courthouse nearly every day. In most cases, I can usually appear on your behalf and you will never have to go to court. For most traffic tickets such as speeding 29 mph or less over the limit or running a stop sign, my fee for representation is $125.00. For speeding 25 mph or more over the speed limit, or speeding more than 80 mph, my fee is $250. These fees do not include fines and court costs which may vary depending on each case.

If you are charged with Driving While Impaired (DWI) or some other alcohol-related offense such as Driving After Consuming Alcohol While Under the Age of 21, the stakes are even higher. If convicted, you might lose your license or serve time in jail in some cases. For a reasonable fee, I will meet with you and discuss the facts of your case and your pleading options. Remember, just because you were charged with DWI, that doesn't make you guilty even if you had been drinking alcohol. The State must still prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you were impaired. You may choose to fight the charge and avoid any court costs, fines, license revocations, insurance points, or possible active jail sentence if you are found not guilty. If you are found guilty or decide to plead guilty, I may be able to obtain a limited driving privilege for you, or help you avoid serving any possible active jail time depending on the facts of your case. My fee for representation in District Court on a DWI or other alcohol related charge is $750.00.
